Hi! My name is Kira Gammie and I officially founded Once Upon A Trim in May 2022. I live in Victoria, BC, Canada with my partner, Chris and two cats, Maestro and Notes.

I'm a lover of all things creative- be it music, crafting, fashion, beauty etc.- and have been all my life. I grew up singing, quilting, crocheting, embroidering and was always on the lookout for my next project. My passions have also always included beauty and fashion where I was always on the hunt for the newest products and trends. 

After numerous years of serving and bartending with only hobbies in these such loved fields, I took my first professional step into these industries when I graduated with a Diploma in Hairstyling from the Academy of Excellence, Colwood in 2021.  This milestone opened a door into the world of hair and accessories and I've been down this rabbit hole every since. After spending plenty of my own money constantly purchasing products that seemed to never quite fit my needs, I took it upon my self to design products that do!

My hair accessories are made from the highest quality fabrics purchase from locally owned fabric stores right here in Victoria, BC, Canada. I pride myself on designs that are not only beautiful, good for your hair and handmade but are also created leaving minimal waste. 

Once Upon A Trim acknowledges and respects the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory we live and work upon and the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
